acneAcne is classified as mild, moderate or severe. Mild acne consists of blackheads, whiteheads and a few spots or pimples. Moderate acne is more inflamed skin and patches of stains. Severe acne is more extensive, often affecting the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders, with pustules and papules, which are deep-seated and long lasting. They are often painful, and most likely to scar the skin, which is a color long after the acne is left disappeared.

I suspect this is the kind that make your daughter suffer. Encourage them not to touch, squeeze or pick it from acne, since it only worsen the condition.

If she insists on wearing make-up, to ensure cover skin blemishes, it is non-comedogenic (non-cause acne), since such products may also contribute to the appearance of the spots. Apply an over-the-counter topical preparation containing benzoyl peroxide should also help.

If the acne does not respond, then I advise saw your family doctor, who may have an antibacterial cream or topical medicines with tretinoin, adapalene, or azelaic acid recommended. If this therapy fails, then a three-to six-month treatment with oral antibiotics such as tetracycline, may be required.

Some GPS may also indicate a contraceptive pill, such as acne is linked to hormonal changes. If things do not improve, your GP may refer your daughter, a dermatologist for isotretinoin treatment.

If a day between four and six months solid, Isotretinoin - an excellent drug that millions of the world suffer acne treatment for more than 20 years - the skin clears in up to 90 percent of those affected. Despite occasional negative publicity about a possible link with depression, most of the patients I treated with isotretinoin, tell young people in particular, that the acne disappears her mood rises and increases self-confidence. Other common side effects include dry lips and noses.

However, after isotretinoin treatment, many patients find that their acne disappears and never returns. be optimistic that an effective treatment exists and that if they get treatment early, your daughter's problem can be cured successfully.
